The Richmond Region Commonwealth Legacy Scholarship is made possible by the Moses D. Nunnally Jr. Charitable Trust and was established for high-achieving students in the Richmond area with financial need. A total of seven students will be awarded up to $5,000 for tuition, books, fees and required supplies for their field of study. The scholarship will be renewable for a second year as long as the student continues to meet scholarship criteria.

How to apply for the Richmond Region Scholarship

Scholars must be enrolled, or planning to enroll, on full-time status at J. Sargeant Reynolds or John Tyler Community College in a degree program for the upcoming academic year.  Applicants should have demonstrated academic excellence during high school and will be required to maintain a cumulative 3.5 GPA in order to renew the scholarship.

Scholarship applications will be evaluated on appearance, spelling, grammar, two letters of reference and the Student Statement (answers to four questions).  A federal FAFSA form must also be submitted with application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Deadline is July 25, 2013. Seven scholarships of up to $5,000 are available.  Recipients will be notified in early August.
