Faculty & Administrators Leadership Academy 2013
The Faculty & Administrators Leadership Academy is designed to provide the leadership theories, practices and skills needed to support current and aspiring leaders to lead their respective departments/areas and colleges more effectively.
Participation in this event is by invitation only. Space is limited to one faculty or administrative member per campus. If you are interested in being considered for this program, please contact your president’s or provost’s office. If selected, registration information will be sent out by your president's or provost's office.
Our next Faculty & Administrators Leadership Academy will be held September 23-26, 2013, in the Tidewater area. We are delighted to welcome back Desna Wallin as our conference facilitator.

The focus of this year’s academy is to provide you with a solid understanding of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to advance into leadership roles within the VCCS. With that comes a forum for practicing your leadership skills and an opportunity to fulfill an unmet need at your college. You are to think of a leadership project that you will carry out throughout the upcoming year. If you have not already selected a project, please consult with your supervisor for suggestions. Some examples of projects undertaken by past participants are: development of PR brochures/information for programs, assessment of programs/courses, development of a college honors program, and college student/employee surveys.
During the academy, you will continue to work on these individual college projects and prepare project action plans. The project will be a yearlong one, starting in January and concluding in December.
